Sure, everyone knows May 4th has become the unofficial celebratory day for Star Wars, giving geeks and nerds worldwide the opportunity to gleefully say May the Fourth Be With You and actually sound pretty cool while they're doing it.
July the Fourth Be With You doesn't have quite the same ring to it, but it does give me an opportunity to showcase the costumes of Star Wars, currently on display at the Discovery Times Square museum.
The mini-museum featured 70 of the hand-crafted costumes from the first six Star Wars flicks. So while Heather and Jackie decided to venture out for some NYC shopping and popped by Ripley's Believe It or Not, Andrew and I made a pitstop on Tatooine and Dagobah to rub shoulders with some of the Force's fiercest.
Andrew was wracked with pain as Emporer Palpatine sent his blasts of electric current surging through his body.
Me, I fought back in kind.
Darth Maul was the centerpiece of the Jedi Knights and Sith Lords section, light sabers and all.
I went for the tough guy pose.
Andrew fought back.
A solemn moment as the sun set on the last of the Jedi Knights. Pause for a moment of silence, please.
These were the droids we were looking for.
Join the Empire, See the Worlds.
Father-and-son Bounty Hunters. With Jango and Boba Fett behind us.
Apparently we owe Jabba some money, so it's carbonite for us as well as Han.
Among the 70 costumes at the show was the now-famous, notorious and since-discontinued Slave Leia garb from the Return of the Jedi
Andrew, obviously, approved.
He gave the Jedi Master Yoda a ride around Dagobah
And we both had a face-off with the Sith Lord himself.
Andrew, tough guy that he is said "Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways, Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not help you conjure up the stolen data tapes or given you clairvoyance enough to find the rebels hidden fort- cough-choke-gag!"
As with his Master, I decided to take on Darth in a battle of the Forces.
As luck would have it, the Time Square museum also plays host to the visible body display, as well as the Vikings exhibits.
Why should you care?
Because that means the three exhibits share one gift shop, giving me the chance to pull off this Thor shot.
May the Thors Be With You As Well!
