I've been Walking Central Park
Singing after dark
People think I'm crazy
I've been stumbling on my feet
Shuffling through the street
People ask me, "What's the matter with you boy?"
- Miss You, the Rolling Stones
The songs about Central Park are endless as are the movies and television shows that have been shot on the grounds of New York's most famous greenspace.
Central Park is the most visited urban park in the United States, averaging about 40 million visitors a year. This year, the Cook family will be responsible for adding four to the 2016 visitor population.
The park was established in 1857 on about 800 acres of land. Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux were its landscape architect and architect. Olmsted, by the way, was also the architect of Lowell's Tyler Park on Westford Street, a little known fact for you.
We started our trip, again through Columbus Circle, and then on to Belvedere Castle again, to capture a skyline shot behind the fam.
One of Heather and Jack's favorite buddy movies to watch together is 27 Dresses, which includes some critical scenes shot inside the Loeb Boathouse restaurant overlooking the lake in the middle of Central Park. Figured this was a nice place to have a birthday brunch for Jack.
Andrew strikes a writer's pose in one of the tunnel pathways that dot the park
Fans of Enchanted recognize Bethesda Terrace
The Whovians among us will recognize it as the fateful site where Rory went for coffee and succumbed to the call of the Weeping Angels. Sigh.
Up above, Loki was taken into custody by the Avengers.
Andrew was happy to recreate, sans the handcuffs and a God of Thunder
No doubt, there's dozens and dozens more film scenes we could have recreated, but we needed to get back to the hotel to get ready for a really big shew!
But on the way, a reminder of what the future holds for this beautiful girl!
